Acacia Calisthenics Club offers calisthenics classes for anyone age 3 years to 99 years. From our Non-competitive Tinies classes through to our Senior Team we have calisthenics classes to cater for all ages. Calisthenics is the perfect sport for those who want to do everything! The variety of genres performed in Calisthenics gives students the opportunity to develop both strength and flexibility whilst performing a variety of routines reflecting classical ballet, gymnastics, modern dance, singing and acting. Some genres are performed annually and the remaining on a rotational basis between age groups. You can view video of the different genres on our What is Calisthenics? page.
Non-competitive Tinies (3 to 6 years) &
Non-Competitive Sub-Juniors (7 to 10 years)
At Acacia we think it is vital children get to experience calisthenics, but we understand competitive dance is not for everyone. So to ensure those who would like less commitment can try calisthenics, we have two calisthenics classes especially designed for children aged 3 to 10 years. These classes offer age appropriate genres of calisthenics in shorter lessons, with low commitment. These classes aim to give students a good foundation in calisthenics to enure student can progress to a competitive team when they are ready. Students can move to our Competitive Tines class the year they turn 5 or to one of our competitive Sub-Junior teams when they are aged 8 to 10 years. Our Non-competitive students have the option to perform at both our mid-year and end of year concerts.
The class includes on a rotational basis:
- Calisthenics Technique for beginners;
- Modified ballet;
- Rods and Clubs (Sub-Juniors only);
- Team work;
- and lots of fun!
