Acacia Calisthenics Club offers calisthenics classes for anyone age 3 years to 99 years. From our Tiny-tots classes through to our Senior Team we have calisthenics classes to cater for all ages. Calisthenics is the perfect sport for those who want to do everything! The variety of genres performed in Calisthenics gives students the opportunity to develop both strength and flexibility whilst performing a variety of routines reflecting classical ballet, gymnastics, modern dance, singing and acting. Some genres are performed annually and the remaining on a rotational basis between age groups. You can view video of the different genres on our What is Calisthenics? page.
Tiny-tots Dance (3 to 5 years)
At Acacia we think it is vital that young student get to experience all genres of dance, but we understand this can be expensive for parents. So to ensure our youngest students can try dance, calisthenics and cheerleading, we have combined dance class especially designed for children aged 3 to 5 years. This classes is made up of the best elements of ballet, gymnastics, calisthencis and cheerleading so the lessons have lots of variety throughout the year. This class aims to give students a foundation in both calisthenics and cheerleading so that when they are ready to move up they can choose the class that best suits them. Our tiny-tots have the option to perform at both our mid-year and end of year concert and our class is run by two qualified coaches to ensure all students get maximum attention.
The class includes on a rotational basis:
- Calisthenics Technique for beginners;
- Cheer Technique for beginners;
- Simplified gymnastics;
- Modified ballet;
- Team work;
- and lots of fun!
Cali-Cheer helps develop coordination, strength, grace, flexibility, teamwork and discipline and when students turn 6 they can choose to move into either our Tinies Calisthenics or Sub-junior Cheer team or both!
